Astronomers recently discovered phosphine gas in the clouds of Venus, a sign of potential life. Likely not humanoid, but the imagination does tend to wander with the implications.

Venus influences you to have a wonderful imagination, to be charming, seductive and brimming with ideals. Mercury rules over communication (mercury retrograde is surely a familiar peril:), travel, chance, commerce and, bonus, he got to escort the dead to the underworld. Mercury rules over communication (mercury retrograde is surely a familiar peril:), travel, chance, commerce and, bonus, he got to escort the dead to the underworld. Couple this with Venus, the goddess of fertility, love, sex and beauty, you pave the way for all sorts of delightful possibilities. Agile, adaptive quick-thinking entreprenurial energy with a deep appreciation of the arts, beauty and all the finer things in life. The speed of Gemini is tempered by the Taurean depth and sensual approach.

Gemini is represented by the twins and known for the duality that implies, a sudden change of mind, a capricious wit. It’s also mutable sign. The earthy, fixed ruling element of Taurus may ground that bouncy energy, reinforcing your decisions with passion. Aries is ruled by Mars and Taurus by Venus.

Venus is named after the Goddess of Love baby — and all those delicious implications, but she was also the goddess of Victory. Which makes for an interesting meeting of minds with the Mars the God of War. There might be less contrast between these signs (as opposed to other #cuspsigns), bringing some synergy — you benefit from a soldier’s strength mixed with an earthy compassion that keeps your heart open.

We’ve heard it said that Taureans are stubborn. Aries adds a touch of speed to this trait, meaning if you want something done, it happens. Your significant other may go out in the morning running errands at 10am, and come back at 3pm, only to discover you have innocently re-designed the entire living room, including painting all the walls, moving furniture around, and putting grandma’s antique rocking chair in “storage”.

Venus and Jupiter are currently conjunct the Galactic Center, located at tropical 26 degrees Sagittarius. These two planets represent many things, but in this position we must look at their highest expression, for any planets passing through here are tapping into and ‘transmitting’ waves from a radio source far beyond.

The stars of the Milky Way are spinning out of and into the Galactic Center, also called Sagittarius A, where astronomers say there is a massive (but small) black hole, our galaxy’s yoni or naval. Sagittarius A is said to be about 27,000 light years away. Even though the core is jam-packed with stars, they are only ‘light weeks’ from each other.

Back to Venus and Jupiter… (currently conjunct the Galactic Center)

Venus at her highest frequency represents LOVE and ‘Goddess’. Jupiter at his highest represents FAITH, ‘God’ [Holst’s ‘Jupiter’ (The Planets) just came on the radio as I typed that!] These two ‘benefics’ are perhaps the most venerated of the planet-gods, and, as religious deities, have thus been maintained in the Judeo-Christian faith as Mary and Jehovah, with Mercury-Jesus completing the trinity. Yes, Venus had her super-hot sex with Mars while married to Vulcan, and yes, Jupiter took every opportunity to spread his seed beyond the nuptial bed, but seeds and thereby babies don’t just need to be bred, fed and watered, they need love and faith, in order to thrive.
