Pisces / Aries Cusp

risingUp · Mar 17, 2020 ·

March 17th – March 23rd

Powerful Warrior Meets Dreamy Psychic.

Happy B-Day Pisces / Aries Cuspy Critters!

Pisces is ruled by Neptune and Jupiter, Aries by Mars

Neptune was named after the Roman God of the Sea — that deep blue space of empathy, psychic powers and mysterious imagination.
Jupiter — a bit like that lucky old sun, as the song goes, rolls around heaven all day. Expansion and prosperity are its commonly touted properties.
In itself there is already a duality on the go. Place Mars, the infamous warrior into the mix…
The God of War is all about action, energy and desire. I like to think of this as a tempestuous, stubborn and sexy force.
Also, in Roman mythology Mars was the son of Jupiter.
Is there is a familiar story playing out — being a rebellious child of such an illustrious Dad, wanting to carve out your own turf?

So what do you get when you are born on the cusp of Spring?

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and Aries is the first. You wave a slightly tearful ta ta to Winter and beckon Spring with gusto.

You’ve got big deep blue sea dreams — don’t forget that the oceans covers 71% of the Earth’s surface. That’s a lot of space to dream. You’ve got the brash forward rushing energy of Aries, tempered by that deep blue sea vision and sensitivity.

All in all we think it makes for a rather thoughtful leader, but not so sensitive they are a pushover. “

Your Pisces side lets you pull back a bit on that warrior impulse and your Aries side lets you stand up to that rude bully who tries to cut in front of you in the lineup. You will say it with grace though, and so they’ll likely fall sheepishly back in line, rather than want to pick a fight with you:) One caveat to this dance of opposites – Pisces is a water sign and Aries a Fire sign, be sure to channel the energy of both of them, without cancelling each other out.

Universal Disclaimer: As always, planets are really only in one place at one time (unless of course you consider quantum mechanics and parallel universes:), so your sun sign really is in only either say 29 degrees Pisces or 1 degrees Aries. You get to choose what’s true for you.

Sagittarius / Capricorn Cusp

risingUp · Dec 23, 2019 ·

There’s something special about being born around the Winter Solstice, regardless of which sign you “truly” are.

It is a time of celebration, renewal, regrowth, an honouring of the darkest hour, the end and the beginning. Also it approaches Santa season, so hopefully it doesn’t mean you get cheeped out on the b-day gifts if it’s your birthday. Who wants a combo gift? 🙂

Capricorn is ruled by the taskmaster Saturn and Sagittarius by the lucky and generous  Jupiter. So at first glance the influence of Saturn may seem to be a burden, but perhaps the 6th planet from the Sun gets a bad rap. After all, Saturn’s field of influence are regeneration, wealth and amplitude. So not just a Cuspy downer:)

As someone born on the cusp between these two planets, with the additional contrast of the Fire of Sagittarius and the Earth of Capricorn, you are likely exhibiting at least some sparks of joy amidst your workaholic tendencies.  As usual enjoy your cuspy critter status, flaunt it (although in a likely introverted way) and appreciate the tensions instead of fretting about them.

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Galactic Center Rocking Rendez-Vous

If your Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter or outer planets are in late Sagi/early Capricorn perhaps you have sometimes felt like you have a shortwave radio, while others just have am/fm“

A guest post from astro-tarologist Roxanna.

Venus and Jupiter are currently conjunct the Galactic Center, located at tropical 26 degrees Sagittarius. These two planets represent many things, but in this position we must look at their highest expression, for any planets passing through here are tapping into and ‘transmitting’  waves from a radio source far beyond.

If your Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter or outer planets are in late Sagi/early Capricorn perhaps you have sometimes felt like you have a shortwave radio, while others just have am/fm

The stars of the Milky Way are spinning out of and into the Galactic Center, also called Sagittarius A, where astronomers say there is a massive (but small) black hole, our galaxy’s yoni or naval. Sagittarius A is  said to be about 27,000 light years away. Even though the core is jam-packed with stars, they are only ‘light weeks’ from each other.

Back to Venus and Jupiter… (currently conjunct the Galactic Center)

Venus at her highest frequency represents LOVE and ‘Goddess’. Jupiter at his highest represents FAITH, ‘God’ [Holst’s ‘Jupiter’ (The Planets) just came on the radio as I typed that!] These two ‘benefics’ are perhaps the most venerated of the planet-gods, and, as religious deities, have thus been maintained in the Judeo-Christian faith as Mary and Jehovah, with Mercury-Jesus completing the trinity. Yes, Venus had her super-hot sex with Mars while married to Vulcan, and yes, Jupiter took every opportunity to spread his seed beyond the nuptial bed, but seeds and thereby babies don’t just need to be bred, fed and watered, they need love and faith, in order to thrive.
